Website Design Process
Here you can find all needed information and documentation needed to have a website completed by Creare Design Studio.
What do you need to start?
Before we start building our website, there are some things you (the client) need to have/do:
- Acquire your domain
- Have Content Ready
- Acquire Hosting
- Have your Brand Identity
- Have Your Logo
- Give Domain Access
If you need assistance with any of these items, we will be glad to assist you. However, having these items/processes complete makes it more efficient in completing your website, and saves you time and money. In addition, the process cannot and will not begin until these are complete. *Please note a fee may apply to assist in these areas.
Explanations
Below you will find explanations of each area needed to complete your website.
A domain is your address on the web. If you don’t have an address to your web home, how can you expect people to visit you? You can acquire your domain via www.godaddy.com if you do not already have a preferered place to get your domain.
In order to design your web home, your designer must have access to bring all the design, flavor and functionality into your web home.
You must give login credentials or delegate access.
Your logo is a key identifier to what your company or brand does. For best visual presentation, your logo should be a .png file with no background, .jpg is accepted. Please do not send in word document or any other non-image file type.
In order to have your site go live on the web and be viewable 24/7, hosting is required. You can get hosting from any company you choose. However, we do provide hosting (visit www.wecreare.com/hosting to acquire. If you choose to host elsewhere, there is a $100 WordPress setup fee and site up-time and management is the responsibility of the client. If requested to fix anything regarding hosting not with us, there will be at a fee of $100 per hour.
Content is one of the most difficult componets of your site, and one of the most overlooked. People need to know about you, your brand and services. We are willing to assist in this area if you need help developing your content.
Having a brand identity is like creating a digital fingerprint. It allows the consumer to easily identify your brand, it’s feel and substance. If you need help creating your brand, we will gladly assist.
* All non-image/text should be sent in one (1) Word document. Including login credentials.
The Process
The Website Design Process consist of 3 steps.
- Initial Consultation
- First/Major Revision
- Final/Functionality Revision
Initial Consultation
In this consult we will discuss the design needs and functionality request for your site. If the option you purchased does not include a requested item and/or funtctionality, you will be invoiced for the difference. Design does not begin until items above are complete/delivered. In this consult, you will be given a code to book two (2) additional 1hr consults to finish your project. Once the 2 consults are used, if site not complete, you will need to purchase an additional consult and/or the service you desire. During/this consult you will receive an email on how/where to send files. Do not send files before booking a service and/or scheduling a consult.
First (Major) Revision
Once we have all files/content and adequate access to your domain and hosting is established, your site design will begin. Your initial site build will take approximately 2-4 business days to complete for review. Once it is complete, you will receive an email from us letting you know your site is ready for review. You can wait until after receiving that email or schedule your first revision 4+ days out from your checklist completion/file send. You can schedule your revisions by visiting www.wecreare.com/booking. First revisions are for major revisions to design and structure. We will go over the adjustments and they will be within 2 business days after the consult.
Function/Final Revision
In the final revision, we will test functionality and access. Here we will check buttons, redirects and forms to ensure the are working properly as the adjustments here will be made live. Once this consult ends, your site should be complete. If it is not, an additional consult must be purchashed for revisions. If this is an addition, not revision, you must book that service add-on.
Service Notes
- “What you need to start” must be complete to begin. Website Design Process should take a total of 7-10 business days, once all items submitted/completed.
- Initiating a design build and going into the initial consultation without completing the “What you need to start” section and submission to us can/will delay the process. Delay of process on client’s part or failure to submit does not constitute a refund or any additional courtesies in the process.
- Failure to submit within 30 days, your project will be closed without refund.
